Police have taken into custody a school employee in connection with a shooting that seriously wounded an adult this morning at an elementary school in Placerville, California.

No students were hurt in the incident.

The suspect is John Leubbers, a custodian at the Louisiana Schnell Elementary School in Placerville, about 45 miles northeast of Sacramento.

Police officials said the victim (alleged to be a school administrator) was taken to nearby Marshall Hospital for treatment.

The Placerville Union School District website said the children are being evacuated to the El Dorado County Fairgrounds

Capt. Larry Marinas of El Dorado County Fire said the school is now on lockdown.
This is still a very fluid situation, he said.
