It is not the first time Pleasant Grove, Dallas, has been part of gun-related news. Several incidents have been recorded in the past few weeks and months.

Late last year in November, a 16-year-old boy was repeatedly shot at 11.15 pm at Wood-castle Drive in Pleasant Grove.

Police arrived to find a group of people that claimed there was a drive-by shooting by someone in a red vehicle, though no one had been hit. Officers then found that was not the case after noticing a small amount of blood some ways down the street.

At that time, the authorities were notified concerning a teen suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He had been dropped off in a private vehicle at the Dallas Regional Medical Center, eight miles in Mesquite.

In yet another incident, a one-year-old boy was killed during a targeted shooting overnight Sunday in the Bonton Neighborhood, Dallas.

The baby was identified to be Rory Norman, according to the county medical examiner’s office.

A 20-year-old man later found to be the boy’s uncle was also taken to the hospital with several gunshot wounds. The man explained to the authorities that an unknown person shot multiple rounds at his residence at 3.30 am on Valentine Street and ended up hitting him and his nephew.

Dallas Mayor, Eric Johnson posted on social media concerning the shooting on Sunday morning. He detailed the incident as a shameless act of gun violence, which took the life of yet another child. He also deemed the actions as intolerable, considering he is also a father of two boys.

At the time, Dallas Police Chief Renee Hall also addressed the crime and expressed their anger concerning the crime, which was committed.

Several other incidents have occurred in Pleasant Grove though the Dallas Police officials have issued a call to stop the violence.
