‘SYTYCD’ Season 14: Top 6 Contestants Named After Mark Villaver Elimination

“So You Think You Can Dance” Season 14 just named its top six contestants.

After a series of performances on Monday night’s episode, Mark Villaver was sent home. This is the second time that Villaver found himself in the bottom three. During week two, he joined Sydney Tormey in the risky spots, but the judges decided to keep him in the competition. Since then, Villaver hasn’t landed in the bottom three, but when he once again did, Nigel Lythgoe, Mary Murphy and Vanessa Hudgens felt it was time for him to go.

Villaver was joined by Kaylee Millis and Kiki Nyemchek in the bottom three. Millis has been in the bottom for two weeks in a row and is the only contestant who wasn’t eliminated after their second time in the bottom two. Tormey and Dassy Lee received the lowest number of votes twice and were immediately sent home. It was also Nyemchek’s first time being in the bottom three.

Prior to Villaver’s elimination, the contestants performed one routine with their all-star counterpart. Villaver danced a hip-hop number with his all-star partner, Comfort Fedoke. He also joined Nyemchek, Taylor Sieve and Koine Iwasaki in their group performance. Millis joined Logan Hernandez and Lex Ishimoto in their trio routine, and they were praised by all three judges.

Now that there are only six contestants left in “So You Think You Can Dance” Season 14, the competition is getting fiercer. Towards the end of the month, the top three contestants will be competing for a chance to bring home the $250,000 grand prize. As of late, the judges are predicting possible wins for either Ishimoto or Sieve. The two contestants, who also happen to be a couple in real life, have received countless praises from Lythgoe, Murphy and Hudgens.

They have also received standing ovations from the judges and the crowd. But every now and then, Murphy and Lythgoe would urge Sieve to come out of her shell. Hudgens also told the dancer that she needs to “light up the dance floor” even more.
