The never-ending free roam RPG, “The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim,” is known for its endless opportunities of continual gameplay. But for fans that may be getting a little bored, a new downloadable content could be in the works.

Earlier this year, the codename for the next-gen Xbox was revealed as Durango, according to a developer summit in London. And now, Sony's next-generation PlayStation console (PlayStation 4 or PS4) has apparently been codenamed Orbis.

Details on Sony’s next console are already beginning to leak, even though no official release date has been set for the gaming system. Referred to as the PlayStation 4, rumors about the device’s name, controller features, and more are sprouting up across the Web. But with other mega forces in the gaming world preparing to put out new consoles, such as the Xbox 720 and Nintendo Wii U, the competition is sure to be fierce. Disney has announced two upcoming sequels to their 2010 action adventure game, Epic Mickey. Disney Epic Mickey: Power of Illusion will be released exclusively on the 3DS this fall, while The Power of Two, will come out on Oct. 1, 2012 for PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii.

In an announcement this week, Microsoft said the next version of the Kinect for Windows will be available at the end of May, with a 1.5 version of the software that works with it. The new Kinect for Windows 1.5 will come with a few new features, such as Kinect Studio, which will allow developers to record, playback and debug users' clips.

Steam just released a beta version of a new patch for “The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim,” which is said to fix some of the bugs caused by a previous update. Called 1.5.26, the Bethesda’s solution to issues caused by the 1.5 upgrade is available for PCs.

'Battlefield 3' will briefly go offline for PC on Thursday for an hour-and-a-half at 8 am while a new patch is installed. The updates include a number of tweaks to the battlefield gameplay and to balancing.
