Taika Waititi, who directed "Thor: Love & Thunder," teased the "satisfying" and "unexpected" ending of one of the characters.

"The end of this film is so cool, so satisfying and so unexpected for this character," Waititi told Empire, The Direct reported Tuesday, citing Empire magazine. "I’d like to exit before an audience says, ‘We’re sick of you'... But if we come up with an idea that’s surprising and new to an audience."

"I’m always open to the conversation," the 46-year-old director, who also voiced the character of Korg, added.

Waititi explained he wanted to "lean in a little more with the drama in this film, and with some of the more emotional aspects," adding he loved "when people laugh and cry."

Previously, Waititi shared the movie was going to be about midlife crisis.

"Ragnarok felt a bit like a party. It was quite festive," Waititi said in May. "This one is still fun, and it's got moments of being over the top, but thematically, it's about something a bit deeper than the last film."

"Universal themes about love and loss and our place in the world," he explained. "Everyone sort of asks this question in the film: What is your purpose? What is the reason that you're a hero, and what do you do when you have these powers? It's sort of like a midlife crisis film, really."

"Thor: Love & Thunder" is slated to release in theaters this Friday.

The first installment of the franchise was released in 2011. It was helmed by director Kenneth Branagh. The second installment of the franchise, "Thor: The Dark World," was dropped in 2013 while "Thor: Ragnarok" marked the third installment, released in 2017.

Chris Hemsworth, who played Thor in several Marvel movies for over a decade, shared how this character has created an impact on his real life.

"I just love playing the character. I love the journey I have been on with him. Not only as Thor, but just my life," Hemsworth said last month. "The two have been side by side for 10, 11 years now and have both crossed over into each other's world from time to time."

Regarding the character in the upcoming movie, the actor shared how they have "dismantled" the character, noting they wanted to make the former more "unpredictable."
