Taiyesha Baker, Indiana University Health Nurse, Under Investigation For Racist Tweet
An Indiana nurse sparked outrage after she tweeted that white women raise sons who tend to turn into "killers," "rapists" and "terrorists" when they grow up.
The woman, identified as Indiana University Health employee Taiyesha Baker, also tweeted about such "boys being a detriment to the society," reported by Fox-affiliated TV station Fox59.
The now-deleted tweet was posted on her Twitter page "Night Nurse" on Nov. 22.

The Twitter account was later deleted, but a user, whose identity is yet to be revealed, posted a set of tweets related to Baker's racist rant, using a similar handle as the deleted account.
The news of her employment was confirmed by Jason Fechner, an IU Health spokesman, who said that Baker worked for the health system when she posted the tweet, USA Today reported.
He also added that IU Health's human resources department was investigating the matter and appropriate action would be taken against her based on the investigation, however, he did not elaborate on the protocol that the investigation would follow.
“IU Health is aware of several troubling posts on social media which appear to be from a recently hired IU Health employee. Our HR department continues to investigate the situation and the authenticity of the posts. During the investigation, that employee (who does not work at Riley Hospital for Children) will have no access to patient care,” the statement read.
Fechner also refused to name the hospital that had employed her, but, Fox 59 reports that Baker was a part of pediatric care unit was recently issued a nursing license on Oct. 30 which is supposed to expire on Oct.31, 2019.
Though in their statement IU Health denied that Baker work at Riley Hospital for Children, the Philadelphia Globe later tweeted that Baker did work there.
After the spokesperson’s first statement on Saturday morning, Fox 59 News reported IU Health on Sunday as saying, “A recently hired IU Health employee tied to troubling posts on social media this weekend is no longer an employee of IU Health.”
Fox 59 News, however, in an editor's note said, "That’s inaccurate as details around the decision are not known at this time."
But Baker’s tweet sure started a raging war on Twitter as several users posted screenshots of her now-deleted tweet and called her out for her harsh words.
A Twitter user by the name "Trump is President" wrote, “Night Nurse (@tai_fieri) closed her Twitter account but before doing so, enjoyed her right to exercise free speech albeit it ignorant & hypocritically racist.”
One user also reached out to Twitter Support and asked them to block Baker’s tweet as it promoted hate.
“Hey @TwitterSupport knowing your new TOS cracks down on #HateSpeech, please look over vile #AntiWhite racist tweets from @tai_fieri including how every white male should be sacrificed & utter hate directed at white people. Side note- it's horrifying that she's a nurse! #anonymous,” the user wrote.
A Twitter user by the name "Lee Franks" also commented on the tweet, saying that he would never want Baker to care for his children or his parents.
“@FOX59 Taiyesha Baker, aka Night Nurse @tai_fieri is now working at IU Health. I wouldn't want her caring for my parents or children because of her views of whites. Shameful that the hospital would allow her to work there and invite lawsuits if any patients treated by her die,” he said.
