'Tales Of Arise' Boss Guide: How To Beat Lord Ganabelt
KEY POINTS
- Ganabelt is a Light-based boss with a powerful, uninterruptable AoE attack
- Stacking Light damage resistance is the key to surviving Ganabelt's attacks
- Players can exploit Ganabelt's long windows of vulnerability to deal damage
The second lord fight in “Tales of Arise” is easily one of the most surprising encounters in the game simply because of how differently the battle plays out compared to the last lord.
Ganabelt, the Lord of Light, can be tough to beat the first time around, but with a few pointers and some extra time for preparations, he can be defeated with relative ease. Here are a few tips on how to survive Lord Ganabelt’s attacks and ultimately bring him down in “Tales of Arise.”
Craft Accessories
At this point in the game, players should now be able to craft accessories from the traveling merchants. These items are great for giving passive boosts to characters. Unfortunately, Cyslodia doesn’t have much in terms of ore variety to let players craft any exciting accessories, but there is one that’s particularly useful against Ganabelt.
The Alexandrite accessories reduce incoming Light and Dark damage by 50%, making it extremely helpful against Ganabelt’s plethora of Light-based spells. This accessory is a must-have in harder difficulties to prevent the boss from one-shotting everyone in the party.
Ganabelt’s Indignation
Once the boss reaches half health, he will start to use the Indignation spell – a powerful move that blasts the room with Light damage. This attack is almost impossible to cancel and cannot be blocked or dodged in any way. This makes Alexandrite or Elemental DEF buffs important, as players won’t have any choice but to tank the damage.
Ganabelt leaves himself open to attacks while he’s casting Indignation. Make sure to capitalize on this short window of time and use as many strong attacks on him as possible.
Fighting Tips
Try to perform Perfect Evades whenever Ganabelt does his rush attacks since they’re predictable. This will also proc any Counterattack bonus passives players may have from their skill trees or accessories.
Since Ganabelt is a caster, try to save Rinwell’s Boost Attacks for whenever the boss is charging an artes skill. This will interrupt the casting and let Rinwell cast it right back at him.
Keep a stock of Life Bottles and Treats handy for post-Indignation healing. Life Bottles can let Alphen spam charge Blazing Sword attacks while Ganabelt is casting Indignation. But just be sure to get him back up afterward.
