KEY POINTS

  • Kisara's attacks grow stronger when used after blocking
  • Her Boost Attack is the only move capable of stunning charging enemies
  • Kisara cannot dodge, but she can block enemy attacks with her shield

“Tales of Arise’s” Kisara’s focus on defensive play does nothing to hinder her personal offensive ability, being able to chain together attacks as expertly as the other melee fighters in the party. Despite her heavy-looking equipment, she can effectively stagger and juggle enemies for extended combos and massive damage.

Her playstyle may feel sluggish at first but with enough time and practice, players will find Kisara to be just as amazing as the others while providing her own unique style of fighting.

For “Tales of Arise” players who want to master playing as Kisara, here are a few tips.

Kisara’s Playstyle

Unlike everyone else in the party, Kisara cannot dodge. Instead, she blocks attacks with her shield, taking reduced damage from every hit or no damage at all if her block is timed perfectly.

Kisara compensates for this lack of mobility with a number of charge attacks and the ability to empower most of her artes by casting them while blocking.

As a melee fighter, Kisara excels at pummeling enemies on the ground and in the air with long combos. She’s also the only “Tales of Arise” character who can stop charging enemies dead in their tracks. She has plenty of Earth artes that are great against Wind enemies as well as a few Fire and Water abilities.

Kisara can also serve as the group’s tank thanks to her defensive abilities. She can a few passive skills that increase her threat, making enemies target her more often than the rest of the party.

Kisara Artes and Combos

Players can’t go wrong with using Kisara like the other melee fighters in “Tales of Arise.” Focus on breaking enemies before launching them into the air for even longer combos.

Here are some useful artes to help “Tales of Arise” players get started with creating their own combos with Kisara:

  • Ground Artes
    • Flaming Meteor
    • Hurricane Slice
    • Crescent Moon
    • Slag Assault
    • Rolling Thunder
  • Aerial Artes
    • Havoc Thrust
    • Light Spear
    • Beast Assault

Flaming Meteor and Crescent Moon are good for breaking enemies and extending combos beyond Kisara’s normal basic attack chain, while Hurricane Slice is meant to launch broken enemies into the air. The rest of the aerial moves are for juggling enemies before sending them crashing to the ground with Beast Assault.
