Tamar Braxton Breaks Silence After Hospitalization, Reveals Reason Behind Suicide Attempt

Tamar Braxton has finally broken her silence after her hospitalization. The artist has revealed that the reason behind her suicide attempt was related to the difficult working conditions that she has been experiencing for the past 11 years.

The musician shared an emotional personal update on Instagram, saying how things went from bad to worse in her professional career. Braxton revealed that she had been “taken advantage of, overworked, and underpaid” for over a decade. The “Pieces” hitmaker also noted that she wrote a letter over two months ago, requesting to be let go.

However, her “cry for help” was ignored and her “soul” was tainted the most by everything that was happening with her.

“Over the past 11 years, there were promises made to protect and portray my story, with the authenticity and honesty I gave. I was betrayed, taken advantage of, overworked, and underpaid. I wrote a letter over 2 months ago asking to be freed from what I believed was excessive and unfair. I explained in personal detail the demise I was experiencing. My cry for help went totally ignored. However, the demands persisted. It was my spirit, and my soul that was tainted the most,” Braxton wrote.

Later in her post, the reality TV star revealed that she thinks of being a good mother and a good human being instead of being someone who constantly thinks about how her life is being portrayed on television.

“It was witnessing the slow death of the woman I became, that discouraged my will to fight. I felt like I was no longer living, I was existing for the purpose of a corporations gain and ratings, and that killed me,” Braxton added.

The “Love and War” singer also shared that mental illness is “real” and people should stop associating it with “shame and humiliation.” She also thanked God for showing mercy on her attempt to end her life.

“It was only god’s grace and his mercy on my attempt to end my pain and my life that I am here to utilize my voice,” Braxton wrote.

Braxton also expressed gratitude toward everyone who prayed for her fast recovery and showered her with good wishes.

The “Braxton Family Values” star was admitted to the hospital on July 16 after her boyfriend found her unresponsive in her hotel room. Braxton has since been transferred to another medical facility that specializes in issues related to mental health.
