Taylor Momsen Cleans Up for New York Fashion Week [PHOTOS]

Taylor Momsen might be better known for her outrageous grunge style and angry song lyrics than for her role as sweet Jenny Humphrey on Gossip Girl these days, but the 18-year-old still knows how to clean up her look.

Taylor Momsen cleaned herself up for New York Fashion Week. The young blonde showed a softer, prettier side at the Marchesa Fall 2012 fashion show in New York City.

She opted for a navy lace dress with a high neck and sheer chest and arms. She wore her blonde hair tucked back in a chic bun, steering away from the drab, dingy strands she has been known to rock as of late. Momsen kept her signature smoky eyes but toned down the drama with a teal shadow. Gone were the torn leggings, bra tops and go-go boots.

In fact, the singer might be moving towards a more cleaned-up style altogether.

In the new music video for her band The Pretty Reckless' new song You, Taylor Momsen looks more sweet than sassy with soft waves, charcoal gray makeup and pale pink lipstick.

The mood of the song is far mellower, as well. The lullaby-ballad has lyrics like: You can't see me, no, Like I see you, I can't steal you, no, like you stole me.

Momsen spoke to FHM this month about her rock star look (that has been known to make headlines). I love stripper shoes and I always try to find the tallest ones, she said.

I'm always surprised no one talks about my shoes. I'm, like, on stage in 15-inch heels but people talk more about my eye make-up, which has stayed the same forever. I always think that's funny. I'm 5'8. So I'm really tall.

I got into heels when I was little, though. My mom's really short so she always wears really tall heels and I used to steal them and now it's just a part of my everyday life, she said.

Many believe that Taylor Momsen is far too risqué for her years; though, based on these photos of the cleaned-up teen, she may be maturing faster than you think.
