After a public break-up from Calvin Harris and a short-lived romance with Tom Hiddleston in 2016, Taylor Swift has officially dipped her foot back into the world of relationships and is dating a new guy. According to reports, the singer is dating British actor Joe Alwyn.
According to The Sun, Swift and Alwyn have been a couple for a few months now and dating secretly, and it appears to have worked for the world famous singer, as she is allegedly very smitten with her newest beau.
“Taylor and Joe are the real deal, this is a very serious relationship,” a source told the publication. “But after what happened with Tim Hiddleston, they were determined to keep it quiet.”
Swift’s relationship with Hiddleston made headlines all over the world last summer, after the two were exposed by The Sun when they were caught kissing on a beach in Rhode Island, just weeks after Swift announced her split from DJ Calvin Harris, whom she dated for more than a year. The two were public with the relationship , with photos of Hiddleston at her annual July 4th party popping up on social media as well. However, they split after only three months when Hiddleston reportedly wanted to make things more public, something Swift was allegedly uncomfortable with doing.
Now, it appears she is doing everything she can to keep her latest romance as much under wraps as she possibly can, with sources telling The Sun that she has gone to great lengths to keep her visits with Alwyn under wraps the last few months.
“Taylor has flown in via private jets and her security has made it a military-like mission to prevent her from being seen,” the source said. “She’s been walking around with Joe in London using disguises, like scarves and hats, to keep her identity under wraps. Nobody has a clue they’ve been walking past a music superstar –not even her new neighbors.”
Swift’s dating life has often been a staple in the tabloids as she has been involved in several relationships with other famous men, and has made a large success of her career by also composing songs about her relationships as well. Every new album Swift has released has often included several songs which have led to fans wondering if they are about some of her famous exes, some of which Swift has somewhat confirmed in interviews in the past.
The only other song that Swift has confirmed is about someone else—but not an ex-boyfriend—is the wildly popular “Bad Blood” from her “1989” album. Swift confirmed the song was about another female singer who had once tried to "sabotage an entire arena tour." Many have since believed the song is about Katy Perry, and have wondered if she would be taking Swift on with a song of her own on her highly-anticipated new album. Perry has denied she would do so.
