Taylor Swift’s 'Bad Blood' Premieres At Billboard Music Awards; Watch The Star-Studded Music Video
Taylor Swift fans have been dying to see the singer’s latest music video for “Bad Blood.” The 25-year-old has been uploading posters from the video to social media in anticipation of the premiere during the 2015 Billboard Music Awards on Sunday.
For Swift’s fourth single from the multi-platinum “1989” album, Swift brought in Joseph Kahn to direct what appears to be a “Sin City”-inspired video. The singer revealed an all-star cast for the video that included her model friends Karlie Kloss, Cara Delevingne, Lily Aldridge, GiGi Hadid and more. Other musicians like Paramore’s Hayley Williams, Ellie Goulding and Zendaya were also featured in “Bad Blood” posters, but Selena Gomez played the leading role.
Even her cats’ namesakes appear in the video. Ellen Pompeo plays Luna in the video while Mariska Hargitay plays Justice. Swift named her first cat after Pompeo’s “Grey’s Anatomy” character Meredith and her second feline after Hargitay’s “Law & Order: SVU” character Olivia.
Swift’s famous friends provide a distraction from the rumors surrounding the song. The “Shake It Off” singer never revealed who the song was about, but many have speculated that the song is about Katy Perry.
“For years, I was never sure if we were friends or not,” Swift explained to Rolling Stone, without naming her inspiration. “She would come up to me at awards shows and say something and walk away, and I would think, 'Are we friends, or did she just give me the harshest insult of my life?'”
The “Bad Blood” music video certainly didn’t address any rumors. Instead, the video showed Taylor as Catastrophe, an assassin in training. She started out losing a fight to Gomez, and then she started to train with a school of assassins, which included all of her famous friends. Once Swift finished training, she and Gomez were ready to face off again. The song was also a remix, featuring Kendrick Lamar rapping a couple verses.
