Taylor Swift’s Rep Responds To Trespasser, Says Media Is ‘Irresponsible’ For Releasing Singer’s Address
This is something Taylor Swift might have trouble shaking off.
According to reports, the Los Angeles Police Department arrested a “suspicious looking” man on Wednesday after he was caught lurking outside the 26-year-old singer’s Bel Air, California, home.
TMZ obtained photos of Swift’s prowler, who was seen sporting a camouflage jacket, revealing that the man was taken into custody around 4 p.m. The LAPD stated to E! News that they received a call regarding a trespasser on Swift's property at 2:45 p.m.
A source divulged to Entertainment Tonight that that man was spotted wandering around Swift’s driveway before allegedly yelling at the Grammy-winning singer to come out, which “spooked” neighbors. It is unknown whether Swift was home when the incident took place.
Swift’s neighbors weren't the only ones feeling disturbed by the unwanted visit. A rep for the “Bad Blood” artist released a statement following the concerning event:
“This is why it’s irresponsible for the media to publish the address or recent real estate transactions of celebrities,” Swift’s rep said. “This, or potentially worse, is the end result.”
The LAPD also revealed to E! News that the man found skulking around Swift’s home was “detained for an investigation.”
“He was not supposed to be in that area or near that home,” authorities said. “He was taken for observation for an undisclosed medical condition.”
When the investigation concluded, the trespasser was transported to the West L.A. Division police station, according to Entertainment Tonight, for "further medical evaluation." The prowler was not charged and is not currently in custody of the LAPD.
