The Professional Fighters League's historic first-ever show in the United Kingdom on Saturday, August 13 delivered exciting mixed martial arts (MMA) action, which saw fantastic finishes and a massive upset victory in the main event.

PFL Playoffs 2 also gave fans and experts alike quite a bit to talk about, so let's get into it with our key takeaways from the aforementioned event.

Dilano Taylor Earns Place Among Best At 170 Pounds

Weeks ago, Dilano Taylor wasn't even in the semifinals bracket, let alone on the brink of a PFL world championship shot and a million-dollar payday.

Taylor finished outside the Top Four of the welterweight standings, but he was given a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity when Magomed Umalatov was forced to withdraw from the playoffs.

Taylor took the chance and made the most of it, knocking out Rory MacDonald in the first round of their PFL Playoff 2 semifinal main event bout to earn a spot in the finals.

Win or lose, Taylor has already shown that he is indeed one of the league's top 170-pounders.

Rory MacDonald In Tough Juncture

Rory MacDonald, a former Bellator world champion and an ex-UFC top contender, is easily the biggest name on PFL's welterweight roster.

"The Red King" will go down as one of the best welterweights of all time, but his run in the league has been forgettable.

In two seasons, MacDonald has compiled a 2-4 record, with his last two losses coming against fighters whose experiences and statures pale in comparison with his caliber and credentials.

It's safe to say that MacDonald is no longer anywhere near his prime, but judging from his last outing, it seems like it's time for MacDonald to call it a career.

While MacDonald's wife has hinted as much following Saturday night's loss, there's still no official announcement from the man himself.

Ante Delija Has Gold In Sight

This season has been a revenge tour of sorts for Ante Delija.

The Croatian heavyweight began the season with a second-round knockout of Matheus Scheffel before dominating Shelton Graves by decision.

Last Saturday, Delija added another stoppage win to his resume with a first-round TKO victory over Brazilian behemoth Renan Ferreira.

Now that he heads to the finals for the second-straight year and will be facing a man whom he knocked out earlier this season, the odds will surely be in Delija's favor to hoist the PFL heavyweight championship in the finals.

Sadibou Sy Eyes Elusive PFL Moment

Believe it or not, Sadibou Sy is PFL's most consistent welterweight.

Sy has made the PFL playoffs in each of the last four seasons. and last Saturday night, he finally broke through and reached the finals for the first time in his MMA career.

The 35-year-old Swede should be the odds-on favorite in the finals, but Dilano Taylor knows a thing or two about flipping the script.
