TCL Launches MoveAudio S200 – What To Know About AirPods Killer

TCL showcased some new devices and technologies at the IFA 2020. These included new tablets, a smartwatch created for the elderly and a new pair of true wireless earbuds that appear to have been designed with Apple's AirPods in mind.

The new audio accessory, dubbed the MoveAudio S200, is a cheap pair of true wireless stereo earbuds meant to give consumers an affordable but formidable choice in the sea of wireless headphones. It will sell for €99 ($117) once released in Europe and will also be sold in markets around the world.

Pricing for the U.S. remains unknown at the moment, but it is expected to be cheaper than the wildly popular AirPods.

A quick look at the TCL MoveAudio S200 shows that it was primarily made to rival the AirPods, at least in terms of design. Some might even think that TCL simply copied Apple's design, down to the silver tips at the end of the stem.

A closer look, however, reveals that it looks more like Chinese tech company Oppo's Enco Free wireless earbuds.

Unlike the AirPods, the new MoveAudio S200 comes in different colors. Buyers can get the earbuds in white or black and the charging case in white, black or teal.

• Smart wearing detection

Per TCL, the MoveAudio S200 automatically plays or pauses music depending on whether the user wears it or takes it off from their ears.

• Touch gestures

The new audio accessory lets users control playback using touch gestures. Users will be able to play or pause music, adjust volume levels and even take calls without having to use their smartphones.

• Voice assistant integration

The MoveAudio S200 works with both Siri and Google Assistant, which means iOS and Android smartphone users can use it.

• Fast pairing

Users will be able to pair their device with the MoveAudio S200 quickly by simply opening the earbuds' charging case.

• Designed for active lifestyles

The MoveAudio S200 is IP54 rated and is waterproof, sweatproof and dustproof, making it a more durable option compared to the AirPods.

• Ample battery life

TCL said the MoveAudio S200 offers 3.5 hours of playtime on the buds themselves and up to a total of 23 hours of playback with the charging case. Users will be able to monitor battery life using the paired smartphone.

TCL said it will release the new MoveAudio S200 globally at the end of the month.
