A 35-year-old teacher has been accused of having sex with a 15-year-old student and threatening him with rape charges if he "snitched."

The Amersham Law Court was told how Kandice Barber, a married woman from Buckinghamshire, drove the student to a field and had sex with him. It was also found that she had often sent him her topless pictures and a video of her performing a sex act, a BBC report said.

According to prosecutor Richard Milne, the teacher approached the boy at a sports presentation in September 2018. She got his number and soon added herself to his Snapchat. Although the messages were normal at first, they turned "sexual" about a week later, Milne told jurors.

Barber picked up the boy in October 2018 and drove him to a secluded area where they had sex in a field.

The boy was interviewed by his headmaster after rumors about their "affair" began spreading in the school, the court was also told.

According to Milne, the boy denied everything as Barber had instructed him to.

"She said he should delete all the messages," he told jurors.

In a video interview shown to jurors, the boy said it had been uncomfortable and awkward meeting her after school. Milne also told the jurors that Barber had told the boy that she could be pregnant with his child.

"She was also telling him she was pregnant and that it could have been his child or that of her husband. This is two weeks after they had had sex. A few days after this she phoned the boy in tears and said that she had had a miscarriage," Milne told jurors.

The boy began to panic when he heard about the pregnancy. "I lied to pretty much everyone except my friends. She said that if I was going to snitch, snake on her basically, she was going to bring me down with her," the student said.

"Kandice Barber, an adult, was having sex with a child under the age of 16 and it makes not a jot of difference to the law, the fact that she was a 'she' and he was a 'he'," Milne said.

Barber is being tried for a second time after a first trial was unable to reach verdicts. She has denied the charges, which include three counts of causing or inciting a child under age 16 to engage in a sexual act and one count of sexual communication with a child.

She told the court that at 5 feet tall, she was "too short" to have sex with the boy, reported the New York Post.
