Teacher Allegedly Had Sex With 14-Year-Old Student Multiple Times In Car, Sent Him Nudes

A Florida middle school drama teacher was arrested for allegedly having sex with her 14-year-old former student multiple times in her car.

The teacher has been identified as 31-year-old Brittiny Lopez-Murray. A police report stated Lopez-Murray and the minor student got involved in an alleged relationship after the teacher began texting him in August about “her feelings toward” him, the Miami Herald reported.

The student, who has not been identified, is now in high school.

The police said the duo exchanged texts detailing “how much they enjoyed the sex with each other,” the report said.

The teacher and student's alleged relationship came to light Saturday after the teenager's sister saw explicit texts and photos on his phone. The boy’s father also found nude photos of Lopez-Murray on his son’s phone.

The Miami-Dade school district told the Miami Herald that Lopez-Murray, who has taught at Hialeah Middle School for four years, will be fired in light of her arrest Monday.

“All employees receive training and are expected to abide by the District’s Standards of Ethical Conduct policy. It is unfortunate that despite our efforts, the actions of some individuals run contrary to the behavior that is expected of them,” the district said.

Lopez-Murray was charged with lewd and lascivious battery, molestation, and engaging in a sexual act with a child, the New York Post reported.

During questioning, the boy told Hialeah police detectives that after Lopez-Murray sent him the texts, the two later met for coffee. Following the meeting they got involved in multiple sex acts on multiple dates.

Last year, a teacher in Arizona, was arrested for having sex with a student. A report released by the police at the time stated the school teacher and a student were “involved in an inappropriate relationship.” The teacher had been identified as 23-year-old Garrett Sweetland. “Upon further investigation, investigators were able to determine that the two had been engaged in sexual acts on multiple occasions during the duration of the alleged relationship,” a press release stated at the time. “The Quartzsite Police Department arrested and booked Garrett Sweetland for 10 counts of Sexual Conduct with a minor under ARS. 13-1405B, a Class 2 Felony,” the release added.
