Men’s Basketball: Kevin Durant (USA)
Kevin Durant helped the U.S. earn the gold medal in the 2010 FIBA World Championship and will try to top his remarkable year with a gold medal in London. The forward for the Oklahoma City Thunder is a 3-time NBA scoring champion and a 3-time All NBA First Team member. He has helped the Thunder reach the NBA finals as the NBA’s leading scorer. It is projected that Durant will play as power forward and is expected to be a key player for Team USA. wsuent.com

This year's version of Team USA Basketball doesn't have a snappy name. "The Dream Team," of 1992, and the more recent, "Redeem Team," are only memories from past Olympic competitions.

Still, this group of NBA stars is intriguing to watch, and has been dominating their opponents.

With a 2-0 record in group play, the U.S. has been cruising since the Olympics began, winning both games by an average of 37 points. After crushing Tony Parker and Nicolas Batum's talented French team, Kevin Durant and the rest of Team USA completely blew out an overmatched Tunisian team.

Now, Team USA has Nigeria in their sights, and will tip off against the African nation on Thursday, Aug. 2 at 5:15 p.m. ET. The game can be seen on the NBC Sports Network. If you can't get to a television, you can watch a free live stream online by clicking here.

Nigeria is currently fourth in the group after losing its second match to Lithuania.

The Nigerian National Team is led by former NBA journeyman Ike Diogu and 21-year old Al-Farouq Aminu, who is most remembered for his career at Wake Forest.

Diogu, a former lottery pick of the Golden State Warriors in 2005, had a double-double in both of Nigeria's games, and has been a force on the boards so far in the tournament. The 6'8 forward is effective in the paint, and big men like Tyson Chandler and Kevin Love will need to focus on stopping him.

While Nigeria can boast some quality players, they are not expected to be much of a match for the star-studded U.S. squad. The Americans are 42.5-point favorite at the online betting site, Bovada.

Durant has been the top performer of this year's team. The Oklahoma City Thunder forward has proven to be a fierce competitor in international competition, and has been the team's most consistent scorer.

With a very balanced attack, Team USA has steamrolled all forms of competition to this point, and Thursday's match will not likely diverge from that trend.

Expect more production from LeBron James and Russell Westbrook, who both figuring to bounce back from somewhat quiet games.

PREDICTION: USA over Nigeria, 98-60
