Team USA Basketball vs Spain: Watch Live Stream Online, Preview for Tuesday’s Game; Kobe, LeBron Look to Shine
The USA men's basketball team will wrap up its exhibition schedule on Tuesday afternoon against Spain, with a 4:30 p.m. ET tipoff in Barcelona.
The game, a rematch of the 2008 Beijing Olympic final, can be found on ESPN2. There is also a free live stream of the event online at espn3.com.
We're obviously excited about the game, USA coach Mike Krzyzewski said. It gives us the opportunity before the Olympics to play the toughest game that we could play which should help us in our preparation.
Team USA is coming off a six-point win over Argentina on Sunday -a game where Kevin Durant scored 27 points to lead the way for the Americans.
In the USA's four exhibition games, Durant is shooting an astounding 54 percent from three-point range.
Durant also led Team USA in its last meeting with Spain back in 2010. He had 25 points and 10 rebounds in the United States' 86-85 victory.
Though Durant has led Team USA in scoring on its current tour (18.8 ppg), he has been helped by LeBron James, the only other player to appear in all four exhibition games and average double figures in scoring (17.0 ppg). James has also been the team's best rebounder, pulling down 5.3 boards per contest.
Spain, meanwhile, is paced by the Gasol brothers, Marc and Pau, along with the Thunder's Serge Ibaka.
However, Spain is dealing with health concerns and it is unknown exactly how much Marc Gasol will play. He is currently recovering from a shoulder injury, while Juan Carlos Navarro and Rudy Fernandez are also battling injuries.
And Spain is already without guard Ricky Rubio, who will miss the Olympics after tearing his ACL back in March.
But despite health problems on Spain's side, Team USA knows what it is up against.
They have an incredible team, USA guard Kobe Bryant said. They have a lot of talent, they have a lot of chemistry and they have something we don't have, which is size.
Spain however hasn't exactly had an easy run of late. Australia pushed them to the brink twice in a pair of exhibition games over the last week, but Spain was able to escape with two six-point wins.
Pau Gasol (16 points) and Jose Calderon (10 points, six assists) led Spain in its most recent win, setting the stage for Tuesdays clash against the United States.
It'll definitely be a great test, Pau Gasol said. We believe in our chances, but it's just a friendly game.
