Stocks opened little changed on Friday as a gauge of consumer inflation showed subdued price pressures, offsetting disappointing results from Bank of America Corp and Google Inc .

The Dow Jones industrial average <.DJI> was up 20.13 points, or 0.16 percent, at 12,305.28. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index <.SPX> was up 2.42 points, or 0.18 percent, at 1,316.94. The Nasdaq Composite Index <.IXIC> was down 7.18 points, or 0.26 percent, at 2,753.04.

Google late on Thursday unnerved investors with a large jump in first-quarter spending. The Internet company reported an adjusted profit slightly under expectations, and the stock fell 6 percent to $542.62.
