Ted Nugent on 'Hunger Games' Movie: Jennifer Lawrence Archery Skills 'The Ultimate Eye Candy'
Ted Nugent, rocker and hunter extraordinaire, is heaping high praise on The Hunger Games star Jennifer Lawrence for her archery skills in the blockbuster film.
Nugent had his own outdoor television series Sprit in the Wild that showed him hunting with his bow and shows viewers how to hunt during the show.
Nugent said the archery displayed by Lawrence's Katniss Everdeen in The Hunger Games was a top-notch portrayal and compared archery to a delicate dance.
All of us archers and bowhunters are so very happy to see real honest-to-God archery from being displayed properly for a change, Ted Nugent told USA Today. Proper archery is one of life's most beautiful ballets, especially when executed by a beautiful woman like Jennifer. It makes for the ultimate eye candy.
Lawrence, whose breakout performance was in 2008's Winter's Bone, said she trained with an Olympic athlete for The Hunger Games.
The actress attributed her tireless work effort for her success as Katniss Everdeen in the film.
I'm not necessarily athletic - I move like an idiot, and I'm very uncoordinated, but I love sports, she said in an interview with DIY. I was willing to do it over and over again, but not very well! [Co-star] Josh [Hutcherson] is faster than me, but I can hit a bulls-eye.
The Hunger Games, adapted from Suzanne Collins' book of the same name, has been a smashing box-office success, raking in $155 million in just its opening weekend.
