Teen Choice Awards: Why Didn’t Kristen Stewart And Robert Pattinson Go To Support 'Twilight' Win?

Actors Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart may have made it their duty to appear at every televised awards show during the height of "Twilight's" popularity, but the rumored demise of their romance appears to have changed their priorities after the duo was noticeably absent from Sunday’s Teen Choice Awards.

Despite being nominated by fans for “Choice Movie: Lip Lock,” among other nominations for their performance as vampire lovers in “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2,” the former co-stars were nowhere to be seen during the show, an absence noticed by fans. “I’m gutted that Rob and Kristen weren’t at the TCA’s last night. I really wanted them to be there,” wrote one fan on Twitter Monday, echoing the thoughts of many “Twilight” fans on the web.

Despite their disappointment of the films’ lack of star power presence, others were pleased with the saga’s total of seven wins at the event. While Stewart was not present to accept her two wins for “Choice Movie Actress in Sci-Fi Fantasy and Romance,” and Pattinson for “Choice Actor: Romance,” actor Taylor Lautner, the only lead in attendance Sunday, walked away with the award for “Choice Movie Actor: Sci-Fi/Fantasy" in hand. The entire cast beat out fellow blockbusters “"Les Misérables" and “Iron Man 3," winning the award for “Choice Movie: Romance and Sci-Fi/Fantasy.”

So where were the film’s stars? According to Hollywood Life, the duo wasn't interested in appearing together publicly following their split in May. “They don’t have a ‘Twilight’ movie to return to. When they had those movies they fell back into why they fell in love in the first place,” a source revealed about the couple. "They don’t have that now, so add that with the other stuff, and you can see why their relationship has strained.”

While an official reason for their lack of attendance has yet to be confirmed, both actors were reportedly in Los Angeles, the show’s filming location, this past week. Stewart is currently working on the drama “Camp X-Ray” in which she will star as a solider assigned to guard Guantanamo Bay. Pattinson is also on location in Calif., working on his second film with director David Cronenberg, “Maps to the Stars.” The British native was also spotted attending a pre-awards show party with “Fast and Furious 6” actress Michelle Rodriquez in Calif., Saturday.

Despite rumors that Pattinson has moved on from his love of three years, the duo was spotted spending time together at Stewart’s Los Feliz, Calif., home earlier this month. According to X17, Pattinson reportedly spent two hours inside the "Twilight" stars residence. “Rob looked nervous on his way to visit Kristen,” a photographer revealed. “He was trying to be discreet so no one would see him.”
