‘Teen Mom 2’ Leah Messer Gets Cops Called On Her After Rehab For Ali And Aleeah: Report
“Teen Mom 2” star Leah Messer emerged from rehab in June, but she still might be troubled. The cops were called on the twice-divorced mother of three, an insider told In Touch Weekly in an exclusive report Wednesday.
So why were authorities called? It has to do with Messer, 23, not following car safety when it comes to her twin daughters, Ali and Aleeah. “Leah is routinely late picking the girls up from school,” an insider told In Touch Weekly. “Cops were called after someone at her girls’ [twins Ali and Aleeah, 5] school reported Leah to them, claiming she doesn’t put the kids in car seats.”
One of her daughters, Ali, suffers from a rare form of muscular dystrophy and needs a wheelchair to help her get around. But the MTV reality star failed to bring the wheelchair to school multiple times. “Leah doesn’t even bring Ali’s wheelchair to school,” the insider said. “During a recent fire drill, Ali was unable to get out quickly and had to be assisted.”
Messer’s third daughter, Addalynn, whom she shares with second husband Jeremy Calvert, was not mentioned by In Touch Weekly. Calvert filed for divorce from Messer before she went to rehab for stress, though many people think she sought treatment for a prescription pill addiction.
It’s not the first time Messer’s parenting had come into question. She has come under fire for feeding her 5-year-old twins at midnight and spanking her girls, all while the MTV cameras rolled.
Corey Simms, the father of the twins and Messer’s first husband, has waged a custody battle against her ex-wife, but MTV footage of her bad parenting cannot be used in court. “Legally, Corey can’t use the footage from the show against Leah, no matter how damning,” an insider told The Ashley’s Reality Roundup on Aug. 12. “Nothing in the show can be used in court by parties that have signed contracts. The reason is because in the contracts it says that MTV has the right to portray things however they want.”
As usual, Messer didn’t hint Wednesday that anything was wrong when she went on social media. “If God be for us, who can be against us,” she tweeted. “I love seeing the joy in my daughters' eyes! #beautiful” she wrote in a different post.
“TM2” Season 6 airs on Thursdays on MTV at 10:00 p.m. EDT.
