‘Teen Mom OG’ Star Amber Portwood Defends Mommy Makeover, Slams Body Shamers In Instagram Rant
Amber Portwood is tired of people criticizing her for getting a mommy makeover. In a series of Instagram videos, six total, the “Teen Mom OG” star lashed out at people who had something negative to say about her new body.
In the first video, Portwood explained that she decided to go under the knife because she lost weight and then gained it back. The MTV star said she dropped 40 pounds by herself, but once she started taking medication for borderline personality disorder, she gained some of it back. “My body didn’t look right. From gaining weight, losing weight, gaining weight, my body was not looking right,” she said. “Plus having a baby, the bottom of my stomach, blah blah blah.”
According to Portwood, her mommy makeover didn’t include a tummy tuck. She also slammed people for accusing her of getting liposuction in order to look skinnier. “I fixed my body for me,” she said in another video. “Not for you, for me. So people saying I got all this liposuction. No, I didn’t get liposuction to be skinny because I don’t need to be skinny. I need to be me.”
She added: “I just feel like that everybody thinks that everyone should be perfect if you’re on TV. This is reality television, we’re not movie stars. … And 99 percent of those people have had plastic surgery. I really think the hate needs to stop. Stop the body-shaming.”
Matt Baier’s fiancée ended her rant by “sending love” to all her supportive fans. “And everybody else that has a f---ing problem with me because I’m not ‘Miss Skinny’ or ‘Miss This, Miss That,’ I do not care,” she said.
The mom of one first announced her plans to go under the knife in September when she tweeted that she wanted to “feel good again.” She posted: “My mommy makeover is officially happening! Losing weight and gaining weight + having a baby can change your body.”
In a Twitter post last month, she revealed that she had finally had the procedure done and was very pleased with the results. “Had my mommy makeover and I’m now in recovery,” she tweeted. “If you want your post mommy body back or you’ve lost a lot of weight then I would recommend it. And thanks for all the love and support. I truly appreciate it. Sending all my love.”
A date and time for the “Teen Mom OG” reunion special have yet to be revealed by MTV.
