‘Teen Mom OG’ Star Maci Bookout Opens Up About Son Maverick’s Health Issues

“Teen Mom OG” star Maci Bookout has opened up about the health condition of her son, Maverick.

The reality star talked about her son and the disease plaguing him in her new book, titled “I Wasn’t Bulletproof: Lessons I’ve Learned (So You Don’t Have To).” According to the reality star, 1-year-old Maverick was diagnosed with silent reflux, People reported.

“His pediatrician prescribed him medicine to reduce stomach acidity and help relieve the pain, but every time we gave it to him he would push it out with his tongue or he would get so upset that he would throw the medicine right back up,” Bookout explained.

The MTV star added that she did not expect to get pregnant with Maverick. She and partner Taylor McKinney had no plans of getting pregnant so soon after welcoming Jayde, 2. And now that Maci has three children already, she said she’s done with having kids biologically. However, they still have plans to expand their family via adoption.

“We’ve both have talked about adoption or fostering in the future, down the road, but we’re not [having kids] biologically,” Bookout said. “For both of us, it’s one of those things where if we are capable of providing a stable home, healthy relationships and some hope for a child who may not have that or ever experienced it, then we want to.”

On Tuesday, Maci celebrated the release of her book on Instagram. She shared a snapshot of herself and a few friends by the pool, each holding a copy of her work. “Nothing like celebrating my new book release than a day at the pool with my bests,” she wrote in the caption.

Prior to this, Maci shared another post showing her signing the books she’s about to release. She also encouraged her followers to grab a copy of her latest offering. “My release day tradition; signing all of the copies of my new book at my local Barnes & Noble,” her caption read. Although Maci is busy with her book, she still finds time to be with her eldest son, Bentley. On the same day, the reality star shared a short clip on Instagram of her son winning a game of tee ball with the Owlz.
