‘Teen Mom OG’ Star Tyler Shames Catelynn’s Weight, Doesn’t Want A ‘Heifer’ Wife
“Teen Mom OG” star Tyler Baltierra always seems supportive of his wife Catelynn Lowell, but some fans might be shocked at the way he talked about her weight in a sneak peek clip of the new season, which was shared by Radar Online Tuesday. When Catelynn said she wanted to join a weight loss program, Tyler said he didn’t want to be married to a “heifer.”
They discussed her potential diet over an unhealthy dinner. “I think I’m gonna join Weight Watchers again,” she says. “I really like Weight Watchers.”
“Alright,” Tyler says, sounding supportive. “It really worked for you last time.”
Tyler starts to come off as critical when he asks her how many calories, or points, her current plate of food consists of. “So, what is this? What would this be considered?” he asks, pointing to the large chicken and cheese quesadilla that she’s dipping into sour cream.
When she tells him it’s “seven points,” Tyler seems concerned. “That’s a big quesadilla, though,” he says. “Like, how would we measure that?”
Catelynn explains a dieter can look up the points for each restaurant, but Tyler is unmoved. “Right. I’m just wondering because that’s a big a-- quesadilla. That has a lot of chicken,” he says, adding: “You know, it’s your body, you do what you want.” As Catelynn continues to shove food into her mouth, he continues: “I mean, obviously, I don’t want no heifer for a wife.”
Catelynn simply laughed, but one of the producers seemed shocked. “Tyler,” she says in an admonishing tone.
“I’m being honest!” he exclaims. “Would you wanna marry some big heifer?”
“You come off like so harsh sometimes,” the producer, who is identified as Jessica, says.
“I’m sorry. Is that harsh?” he says to Catelynn.
Even though Jessica seemed bothered by his statement, Catelynn was unaffected. First she asks if he thinks she’s a “heifer” right now. When he says no, Catelynn add, “OK then see.”
After he describes how big of a “heifer” he’s talking about, he shoves a French fry into his mouth and then says, “Just know that I love you no matter what.”
