Kailyn Lowry has decided to freeze her eggs for a reason.
The celebrity mom of four opened up about her polycystic ovary syndrome struggles and her plans to freeze her eggs on part one of the "Teen Mom 2" reunion Tuesday. She admitted that she is doing it to be prepared in case she wants to have more children in the future with her future partner.
"I was doing [egg harvesting] first, and I’m glad I started doing it, because then I found out I have PCOS," the reality star was quoted by Us Weekly as saying. "I’m not even saying I would have more [kids], I just want the possibility, if five years from now, I do meet the love of my life and we want to have kids, I have healthy eggs."
Lowry has four kids already. She shares 11-year-old son Isaac with ex-husband Jo Rivera, 7-year-old son Lincoln with ex Javi Marroquin and sons 3-year-old Lux and 11-month-old Creed with ex Chris Lopez.
The "Teen Mom" star first opened up about her hormonal disorder in April. According to the "Pride Over Pity" author, it was "overwhelming" on her part.
"The diagnosis has been a little bit overwhelming for me. The medication has insane side effects, and I’m just trying to figure out the best ways to manage the symptoms because the diagnosis came just as fast as the symptoms came," she said. "So it’s just kind of all, like, new and overwhelming. But we’re gonna figure out a way to manage it and, and we’ll work it out."
Lowry is currently enjoying her independence and getting her own time back because her kids are growing older. She said that she won't be adding more to her brood anytime soon.
Meanwhile, the reality star spoke about her dating life in November. At the time, she said she was open to dating, but she's not interested in going out with dads or using dating apps.
"I have four f–king kids! I don’t have anything in common with any man. I’m not gonna date someone who has kids. I’m just not gonna do it. Like, I will not," she said.
"I feel like I couldn’t do a dating app just because I’m on TV. I feel like people would seek me out," she added.
