Areline Martínez was shooting the video with a few friends when one of them accidentally shot her. While most of the friends fled, one of them contacted the local authorities and reported the incident. The entire incident was caught on camera. Police said that preliminary investigation revealed the accused was "tampering with a firearm thinking that it was not loaded and shot the woman." Nobody was arrested in connection with the incident at the time and also remained unclear if the weapon was licensed.
