'Teen Wolf' Season 4 Finale Spoilers: Watch Derek Accept His Fate In Sneak Peek Video From Episode 12, 'Smoke & Mirrors'

The “Teen Wolf” Season 4 finale has high stakes for Derek Hale. After Lydia’s scream in episode 11, Derek knows that his life is in danger, but that won’t stop him from doing what he has to do. He has to go to Mexico with Braeden to save Scott and Kira from Kate Argent’s crazy plan. In a new sneak peek from the 75-minute finale, it looks like Derek is accepting his fate.

In the clip, Derek and Braeden are loading up the guns as they prepare to go after Kira and Scott. This seems to be the usual for Braeden, but packing weaponry is new for Derek. He hates that he is powerless. Without his werewolf powers, he feels helpless.

“I’m human,” Braden says as she cocks a gun. “Do I look helpless?”

“You’re a much better shot than me,” Derek smirks.

Braeden realizes that Derek is serious. She asks if he truly believes that he won’t make it through this trip, and Derek tells her that he doesn’t think he’s coming back alive.

“You know I’m not okay with that,” Braeden says.

Derek kisses his girlfriend and says, “I know. … I have to save Scott and Kira.”

Derek is seriously scared if he is actually showing emotion. The stoic werewolf usually just broods, rather than express his feelings. Impending death and a girlfriend have apparently changed him, which makes fans even more scared. Fans have to ask, could the writers be giving viewers one last tender moment with Derek before a gruesome death?
