‘Teen Wolf’ Season 6B Spoilers: Why Isn’t Stiles In Beacon Hills? [RECAP]
“Teen Wolf” Season 6B has been the subject of much concern. Fans were worried about how Stiles would fit into the MTV drama when they realized actor Dylan O’Brien’s movie filming schedule would interrupt the show’s final run. However, the final season premiere revealed how Stiles will stay involved — and how his storyline connects to Derek.
At the end of the episode, Scott (Tyler Posey), Lydia (Holland Roden) and Malia (Shelley Hennig) discuss whether to call Stiles or not. While Scott and Lydia put off leaving and Malia eventually cancels her trip to Paris, Stiles left earlier than everyone else for the pre-FBI program.
As they debate telling Stiles to come home, Scott plays a voicemail from his best friend. “I kind of told Lydia that I miss her and I can’t wait to get home,” Stiles says. “But listen, Scott, whatever you’re doing right now, just make sure you’re getting out of Beacon Hills. I mean, maybe you think you can’t leave. You know, like the whole thing falls apart if you’re not there, but you have to.”

The trio agrees that Stiles deserves to be happy, and they decide not to ask him to return to Beacon Hills. They don’t realize that Stiles has his own mysteries to worry about.
During his first day of class, an instructor tells Stiles and his classmates about how they’ll be looking at ongoing homicide cases. He even plays video of a mass murder suspect running through the woods. Stiles realizes he knows the “bizarrely feral” suspect running shirtless — it’s Derek Hale. It seems Stiles will be solving his own mysteries while the gang handles their new challenges.
Meanwhile, it seems like there’s more problems than ever keeping the pack in town. Scott and Liam (Dylan Sprayberry) find a bunch of dead wolves in the woods, and bugs start crawling out of their eyes as soon as they die. Dozens of rats suddenly infest classrooms. Eichen House accidentally unleashed a hellhound (Casey Deidrick) who is over a century old. There’s a kid named Nolan (Froy Gutierrez) and a new guidance counselor, Tamora Monroe (Sibongile Mlambo), who don’t seem to believe there is more to the “animal attack” stories.
Plus, Liam suddenly doesn’t seem anchored to his humanity. He is getting over Hayden (Victoria Moroles), who moved to a new town. It’s difficult for Liam to deal with losing his girlfriend and his Alpha at the same time. It seems all of that has resulted in Liam losing control and letting the glowing eyes and claws come out in public. He manages to cover himself before anyone sees each time it happens.
All of these issues might be connected to the Wild Hunt. Lydia gets a vision of the Beacon Hills High School hallway. Suddenly, it’s covered with intense cobwebs. When the banshee touches it, she hears someone say, “You let it out. He was supposed to ride with the Hunt forever.” She also hears what she can apparently identify as the sound of innocent people killing each other.

Similarly, the new hellhound tells Parrish (Ryan Kelley) that he wants to stop something the deputy let out, but he doesn’t specify what. He just battles Parrish and Liam in the school. The new hellhound issue is solved pretty quickly after Liam weakens the creature. The guidance counselor shoots him, not realizing that a regular bullet won’t do much. He tries to attack Tamora, and when she shoots him again, he dies. Afterwards, the pack finds the second bullet’s casing, which has a fleur-de-lis on it — a sign that the Argents are hunting again.
Elsewhere in this episode, the pack was worried about their mothers. Scott gives his mom an 800,000 volt stun baton and tells her to call Liam if there’s trouble. Melissa (Melissa Ponzio) shows Scott that she has tons of supernatural herbs hidden in the morgue. She can take care of Beacon Hills.
Lydia puts a list of all the supernatural people in Beacon Hills in her mother’s (Susan Walters) desk. As the new principal, Lydia thinks her mom should help those teenagers, but Mrs. Martin thinks it’s not her problem.
“Teen Wolf” Season 6B, the final season, airs Sundays at 8 p.m. EDT on MTV.
