'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2': Brittany Ishibashi To Play Shredder's Daughter Karai

A popular cartoon character is set to make an appearance in the upcoming movie “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2.” Actress Brittany Ishibashi has reportedly been cast as Karai, a leading member of the evil Foot Clan.

According to a report by Deadline, Ishibashi will play Shredder’s daughter in the movie. Shredder is the iconic villain and sworn enemy of the Turtles. Actor Brian Tee will play the villain in the upcoming movie.

Ishibashi played Saya Ozu in the episode “The Way of the Ninja” in the “Castle” TV series. She has also been seen on other TV shows, such as “Grace and Frankie,” “Mind Games” and “Bones.” The movies that feature the actress include the 2008 “Eagle Eye” and “Revenge of the Bridesmaid.”

Shredder was also the enemy in the 2014 “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.” The role was then played by Tohoru Masamune. ScreenRant speculates that Isibashi’s character may be the daughter of Masamune, because Tee is very young to play the father of the actress.

The report suggests that the name Shredder is a title that can be passed on to the others in the movie. The other possibility suggested is that Tee appears only in a flashback scene and the reins of the Foot Clan may be in the hands of Karai in the next movie.

Tracing the story line of Karai in the comic books and in the cartoons, the report notes that the character doesn’t always have a confrontational relationship with the superheroes. Karai has been seen to be working with the heroes to take on a common, much bigger enemy threatening them both.

A popular villain from the cartoons that is expected to make a debut appearance in “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2” is Krang. The character is from Dimension X, and in the cartoons Krang enters Earth through a portal. Two other villainous characters set to appear in the movie are Bebop and Rocksteady. The two new characters are humans turned into mutants and they help Shredder against the superheroes.
