Teenager Fights With Fellow Student, Stabs Him To Death In Texas School Bathroom
A Texas teenager allegedly stabbed a fellow student inside their school's bathroom after a fight. The victim was taken to the hospital but succumbed to his injuries.
Caysen Tyler Allison was charged with murder Wednesday in connection with the death of Jose Luis "Joe" Ramirez Jr. at Belton High School. The two 18-year-old students got into a fight before Ramirez was stabbed inside the bathroom Tuesday morning, according to the New York Post.
"My son goes to that bathroom every day after first period and this boy knew he would be there," Amanda Rios, the victim's mother, told 10 Tampa Bay. "He knew he would be in that bathroom … he went and bought this knife to kill my baby and he cut his heart and he took it."
Allison allegedly ran out of the school and was arrested off-campus about 20 minutes after the stabbing incident. He was charged the following day and booked into the Bell County Jail.
Rios claimed the two teenagers fought over a girl. "There's no girl in this world worth taking two lives," the mother told the outlet. "Nobody, nobody is worth it."
The school was placed under lockdown after Tuesday's stabbing, and students were released to their parents one by one.
One parent, Sarah Lopez, said she managed to speak to her 10th-grade daughter as the incident unfolded.
"She was scared. I heard commotion in the background. I asked if she was okay and she said, 'Mom, someone has been stabbed.' So, I asked her if she was okay and she said, 'I'm okay, but I saw what happened," Lopez told KWTX.
"It's too close to home. You hear it all the time, but when it actually happens at home, it's shocking because you start thinking about the community and you think of the people you work closely with that also have children going here," Lopez added.
The victim was described by his childhood friend Bryan Lopez as a "goofy person."
"He's just always making you laugh smile," he told the outlet. "We were just hanging out the other day on prom night."
The victim's grieving mother told 10 Tampa Bay, "I'll miss him every day. Our family is so close, we all love each other, we do everything together. He's going to be so missed."
Rios was robbed of the chance to see her son walk on stage at his graduation, which is happening in a few weeks. "He loved, he loved so big and he didn't deserve this," she added. "He was the greatest son I could have."
Belton High School canceled all classes Thursday.
