Tennessee Titans vs. Arizona Cardinals: Watch Live Stream Online, Preview, Prediction for Jake Locker’s Second NFL Preseason Start
The Tennessee Titans and Arizona Cardinals are set to square off on Thursday night in Week 3 of the 2012 NFL preseason.
The contest gets under way at 8 p.m. ET at LP Field. It will be broadcast nationally on ESPN. If you can't get to a television, you can watch a free live stream online on espn3.com.
Two preseason games were all the Titans needed to select Jake Locker as their starting quarterback for the season. After playing five games in 2011, Tennessee's first-round pick from a year ago has taken the job from Matt Hasselbeck.
The Titans are 1-1 in the preseason, and the veteran performed poorly in the team's first game. He went 5-9 for 45 yards and threw two interceptions. He followed that up with a 4-5 performance in a win against the Buccaneers, but it wasn't enough to earn him a start in Week 1 of the regular season.
Locker got his first career start against Tampa Bay last Friday, completing four of 11 passes for 21 yards and an interception. Despite his subpar performance, Locker will start for the foreseeable future.
The Cardinals are one of two teams that have already played three exhibition games. They picked up their first win of the preseason when they beat the Raiders 31-27 on Saturday.
Kevin Kolb failed to have another impressive performance, going 3-6 for 22 yards. He has yet to throw a touchdown in the preseason, and is on the verge of losing his starting job.
John Skelton completed all three of his passes on his only drive of the game, and has been given the starting nod against the Titans.
The quarterback will take the field with a somewhat depleted offensive line. Starting left tackle Levi Brown could be out the entire season with a torn triceps tendon. D.J. Young is the favorite to take his spot.
Skelton, who is expected to play more than two quarters, will be surrounded with a few offensive weapons that the Cardinals didn't have in their first three games. Running back Beanie Wells will make his 2012 debut. He rushed for 1,047 yards in 14 games in 2011.
Tight end Jeff King will also play in his first exhibition game.
Prediction: Both teams could struggle to score in this one. Neither Locker nor Skelton has proven to be a quality NFL quarterback. With the Cardinals returning offensive starters, they might have the edge.
Predicted Score: Arizona 20, Tennessee 17
