On the social networking site Facebook, a user named Torry Merriman based in Ohio spotted a latch in the second row of the Tesla Cybertruck. The assumption is that the latch is indicative that the rear seat of the all-electric pickup truck can be folded or flipped up and down. Others assumed that the folding rear seat could also provide more storage space in the cabin.
To demonstrate his idea, the Facebook user uses a photo of another pickup truck. A folding rear seat is a welcome feature among pickup truck enthusiasts who are looking for practicality and utility from the Tesla Cybertruck. It would also come handy to those who require extra space beyond the massive vault and several storage slots of the Tesla vehicle.
Popular pickup trucks in the US features folding rear seats or rear benches. It is available in Ford F-250 Superduty XLT and Ram 1500. The Ford F-250 offers fold-flat lockable storage on its rear seat. Meanwhile, the Ram 1500 provides interior storage of 15.1 liters that includes in-floor storage for some of its Crew Cab variants.
The much-awaited Tesla Cybertruck has several hidden features, including a pass-through for extremely long cargo, center-fold down front seat, and storage under the vault bed, among others, reports Teslarati. Tesla CEO Elon Musk earlier confirmed that the Cybertruck is capable of carrying extra-long cargo with a flip stop feature found on its tailgate. The electric vehicle maker assured fans that the Tesla Cybertruck would deliver in terms of performance and functionalities.
Recently, Tesla changed the production timeline of both expensive and base trims of Tesla Cybertruck. The tr-Motor and Dual-motor models will commence production in 2021, while the entry-level variant will enter the production line in 2021. The price of Tri-Motor AWD Cybertruck starts at $69,900, the Dual Motor’s price starts at $49,000, while the Single Motor Rear-Wheel Drive has a price tag of $39,000.
