Tesla China has announced its fourth mass recruitment drive in as many weeks, this time making it known it needs first-line technicians and team leaders for Tesla Shanghai Gigafactory 3, as well as members for the Factory Firmware Team.

A job fair for first-line technicians and team leaders will be held on Sept. 26 at Giga Shanghai. Tesla China also said it intends to organize Giga Shanghai's Factory Firmware Team and is looking for people to work within this team as Firmware Integration Engineers and Firmware Integration Technicians, according to Teslarati.

This team's job will be to “deploy, integrate, and assess” smart hardware and programmable logic controllers for Tesla electric vehicles (EVs). The first round of hiring for these positions is underway.

Tesla is also looking to hire people for a new “Creative CP” team. It wants people that can be part of a “superior” social media team tasked with effectively tapping into China's massive online community numbering into the hundreds of millions.

It expects the Creative CP team to develop a strong grassroots marketing campaign among EV owners in China.

Tesla CEO Elon Musk tweeted about these latest recruitment moves in two separate tweets on Wednesday.

“Tesla is building a major engineering team in China, incl heavy focus on software/firmware for factory & car,” tweeted Musk.

“This includes original engineering of new factory processes & cars. Great engineers will only join if original engineering is supported, not just localization.”

Earlier this month, Tesla announced job openings for Gigafactory 3's battery-related operations. It also posted job listings for Body/Closures Engineers, Exterior/Lighting Engineers, Chassis Engineers, Interior Engineers, Vehicle Test Drive Engineers, Distribution Engineers, and Thermals Engineers, among many others.

The fast pace of recruitment for Giga Shanghai, which is scheduled to roll-out its first Tesla Model 3 sedan by November, indicates preparations for Phase 2 construction is hitting its stride.

Phase 2 will see the construction of the facility that will produce battery packs for Tesla EVs and drive units for the Model 3. Sources in the know said Giuga Shanghai is expected to begin operations after the completion of the southwest substation.

New leaked images revealing the interior of Giga 3’s general assembly building (GAB) exposed trial assembly runs for the Model 3 have begun. One photo shows two painted, partially built Model 3 EVs at the assembly line.
