Tesla Motors Inc Names Former Google Exec Jason Wheeler As New CFO

Tesla Motors Inc. has named former Google executive Jason Wheeler as its chief financial officer, replacing Deepak Ahuja, who announced in June that he planned to retire this year, CNBC reported. Wheeler is currently Google's vice president of finance.

Ahuja has been at the company since 2008, seeing the company through its initial public offering, the Wall Street Journal reported.

Tesla Motors Inc. also announced the hiring of Jon McNeil as vice president of sales and service.

It was speculated earlier in the year that Wheeler would be tapped as a replacement for Google finance chief Patrick Pichett, who is also set to retire this year.
