A student was found unresponsive and later pronounced dead in the Texas State University residence hall. The event took place in the San Marcos campus, late Sunday evening.

The university took to Twitter to inform the general public about the incident. The university tweeted, “We are sad to inform the university community that today a TXST student was found unresponsive in a residence hall at our San Marcos & later pronounced dead. There is no evidence of foul play & there is no danger to the community. The student’s family has been notified.”

No information about the identity of the student was released yet.
