Texas Tech: Bomb Squad Investigating Suspicious Package, Dorm Evacuated

Texas Tech University police are continuing an ongoing investigation into a suspicious package near the campus’ Talkington Residence Hall.
School officials tell the Statesman that police have evacuated the Lubbock, Texas, dormitory as the bomb squad has conducts its investigation in what is being described as a "pipe bomb," according to several local law enforcement comments. As of 4:55 p.m., Texas Tech’s official Twitter account announced “the bomb squad continues to evaluate a suspicious device that is attached to a vehicle east of Talkington Hall. Continue to avoid the area.”

Lubbock Police confirmed a potentially separate presence of a pipe bomb at the Happy State bank near 19th and Quaker. Law enforcement are investigating if it is tied to the suspicious package TexasTech.
A local KLBK reporter says the device may be attached to a vehicle. Details are still coming in
