Texas Woman Shoots, Kills Husband Following 'Domestic Disturbance'
A woman in Arlington, Texas, was arrested Monday for fatally shooting her husband.
According to local reports, Arlington police received a phone call from the wife, identified as 45-year-old Wendy Behnke, around 8.05 a.m. local time (9.30 a.m. EDT) stating that she had shot her husband.
Officers arrived at her home in 7915 Corona Avenue and found her husband unresponsive with a gunshot wound. The victim, identified as 49-year-old Larry Behnke, was taken to Medical City Arlington Hospital, where he succumbed to injuries.
According to the police, Wendy remained at the scene and was detained by agents for questioning. She confessed to the police that a domestic disturbance led to the shooting.
The accused was arrested on the count of murder and booked into the Arlington city jail Monday. No bond has been set yet.
The incident comes two months after a woman in Texas shot her estranged husband to death and called it “an accident." The woman, identified as 68-year-old Carolyn Court, shot her 66-year-old estranged husband, Ray Court, because she couldn’t stand the sight of him in his girlfriend’s car. Carolyn was later released on a $150,000 bond.
