TGS 2017: Sony's Biggest Announcements During Its PlayStation Event
Sony held its PlayStation Conference during Tokyo Game Show 2017 and made some big announcements for the PlayStation 4. Below are the four biggest announcements that Sony made during the event.
Left Alive by Square Enix
Square Enix announced its new game “Left Alive” during Sony’s PlayStation conference at TGS 2017. The game is described as a survival action shooter. It’s being directed by “Armored Core” director Toshifumi Nabeshima, while the characters are being designed by Yoji Shinkawa, the same character designer for “Metal Gear.”
Not much is known about “Left Alive,” but the game will be set in a futuristic era that’s been through a catastrophic event. Square Enix also released a short teaser trailer, but it really doesn’t give away much information on the game’s storyline.
Square Enix’s “Left Alive” is scheduled to be release for the PlayStation 4 and the PC sometime in 2018, according to GameSpot.
Monster Hunter World Release Date
Capcom has confirmed that “Monster Hunter World” will be released worldwide for the PS4 on Jan. 26, 2018. The video game developer also revealed the special editions of the game, as well as its preorder bonuses. The digital deluxe edition will include a bonus armor set, emote, emblems and hairstyle. The physical collector’s edition of “Monster Hunter World” will include a copy of the game, the soundtrack and an art book, according to IGN.
Those who preorder the game will also get the “Origin Series” armor and a Wind Charm item. Preorders for “Monster hunter World” will open tomorrow on Sept. 20.
Although the game won’t be out until January, Sony also announced a themed PS4 Pro for “Monster Hunter World” in Japan. The PlayStation 4 Pro Monster Hunter World: Liolaeus Edition will be available in Japan on Dec. 7 for 49,980 Yen (around $448), according to Kotaku.
Shadow of the Colossus For The PS4
Sony has released a new trailer for “Shadow of the Colossus.” This time, the trailer shows of the game running on the PlayStation 4 Pro, according to Polygon.
The original “Shadow of the Colossus” was released for the PS2 way back in 2005. It was later remastered for the PS3 in 2011 with upgraded 1080p full HD graphics. Unlike the PS3 remaster, “Shadow of the Colossus” for the PS4 is a full blown remake meaning that it has been remade from the ground up.
Sony didn’t give out an exact release date for “Shadow of the Colossus” for the PS4, but it’s going to be release sometime in 2018.
Final Fantasy IX for the PS4
Sony also release “Final Fantasy IX” for the PS4 through the PlayStation Store. This version of the game appears to be port of the original, but comes included with HD cutscene video, support for trophies and boosters.
“Final Fantasy IX” was originally released for the first PlayStation console back in 2000. It has now been ported to the Windows PC, Android and iOS device last year. The re-release of the game seems to be the same with how Square Enix re-released “Final Fantasy VII” for the PS4 last year.
“Final Fantasy IX” is now available from the PlayStation Store for $16.79, but it will be sold for $20.99 starting on Sept. 26, according to PlayStation Lifestyle.
