‘That’s So Raven’ Spinoff Officially Confirmed By Disney Channel
A “That’s So Raven” spinoff has just been confirmed by Disney Channel.
Gary Marsh, president and chief creative officer of Disney Channels Worldwide, released a statement via Deadline following the pickup announcement. “There is only one Raven and for over 25 years, she has blessed audiences around the world with the greatest gift of all – the pure, unadulterated joy of laugh-out-loud funny. After being a part of over 20 different Disney projects, we are thrilled to be bringing Raven home to Disney Channel once again,” he said.
According to TV Line, Raven-Symone will reprise her role as Raven in the new TV series. Raven’s best friend, Chelsea (Anneliese van der Pol), will also return. But since the spinoff will have an entirely different storyline, a slew of new stars have also been tapped to join the cast.

In the spinoff, Raven is a single mom to “Black-ish” star Isaac Brown’s Booker and “Being Mary Jane” actress Navia Robinson’s Nia. Booker and Nia are twins. The latter has a best friend named Tess, who will be played by “America’s Got Talent” Season 11 contestant Sky Katz. Chelsea, who is also a single mom, has a son named Levi (Jason Maybaum).
Both Raven and Chelsea are raising their kids in one house and supporting each other through their respective divorces. The official description for the spinoff states that Raven’s kids will show signs that they have inherited their mom’s trait of catching glimpses of the future. This will result to the already-hectic household turning upside down.
The “That’s So Raven” spinoff was planned last year. At the time, Symone said that she will leave her post on “The View” to return to the Disney Channel show. Production is set to commence this month, and the spinoff will be released around the end of the year.
