The Apple Watch has come a long way since its launch in 2015, with a particular focus on its health features. Apple has made constant improvements to the smartwatch, making it one of the most popular wearable devices on the market.

The company has taken the watch's health and fitness-related features to a whole new level, making it a powerful tool for keeping track of your fitness and well-being.

The Apple Watch can now notify you about abnormal heart rates and even inform your emergency contacts if you fall hard. So, whether you're out for a run or just going about your everyday life, you can rest assured the Apple Watch has you covered.

Irregular heart rhythm

Apple Watch is a lifesaver for people, who suffer from an irregular heartbeat. This condition can be fatal if not treated in time. By default, if your Apple Watch senses your heart rate is above or below certain points, it will alert.

So, the next time you feel your heart racing and feel a tap on your wrist, be sure to check your Watch for impending danger.

Fall detection

The new Apple Watch features are a lifesaver for people with medical conditions prone to falls. The Apple Watch Series 8 comes with a feature called fall detection.

It has sensors that can detect when you've had a fall, and if you remain still for about a minute after the fall, the Watch will tap your wrist, display a message, and give you the option to indicate that you are OK or to make an emergency call. If you don't respond, the Watch will attempt to call emergency services on your behalf.

Inbuilt ECG tool

The Apple Watch Series 4 and up have an electrocardiogram (ECG) feature that lets you take a reading of your heart condition without having to go to a clinic or diagnostic lab.

The Series 8 can generate an ECG that's similar to a single-lead electrocardiogram. It can generate an ECG by simply placing your finger on the crown for 30 seconds and can also spot irregular heart rhythms that could be a sign of atrial fibrillation.

SOS services

If you find yourself in an emergency and need help immediately, just press and hold the button located below the Crown on your Apple Watch Series 8. Doing so will give you the option to call local emergency services.

In case you aren't able to make the call, just keep the button pressed, and the Watch will call the emergency services on your behalf.

Your emergency contacts will then receive a message saying you need assistance along with your current location.

Diabetes management

If you're looking for a way to manage your diabetes, the Apple Watch is a great option. With its built-in health tracking features, you can easily keep an eye on your blood sugar levels and make sure you're staying on top of your health.
