It's hard to believe that someone might have seen some evidence that aliens exist. But what if an astronaut told you that they're real, and some of them are on Earth?

For Helen Sharman, humans are not the only species in the universe. The 56-year-old was the first of seven British nationals to explore space and, according to CNN, was able to visit the Soviet Mir space station in 1991.

But as far as aliens are concerned, Sharman believes that the stars can be gateways to other civilizations.

“Aliens exist, there's no two ways about it. There are so many billions of stars out there in the universe that there must be all sorts of different forms of life,” Sharman told The Guardian.

But then again, she also raised the question on whether or not aliens would look like us, just like in the movies.

“Will they be like you and me, made up of carbon and nitrogen? Maybe not,” she said.

On that particular interview, however, Sharman pointed that there might already be aliens that are living among us, and it's possible “they're here right now and we simply can't see them.”

We, as humans, are fascinated about life beyond Earth. There have been a lot of theories that tell stories which can sometimes offer hard evidence, but we have yet to encounter the third kind at its purest form. All we have are blots on a monitor, strange dancing lights in the middle of the night, or some sort of UFO that went past the sky when we happen to count the stars.
