Fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe have been missing the romance of their beloved “Lord Of Thunder” and his beautiful astrophysicist love interest, Jane Foster since “Thor: The Dark World.” But with the latest installment of the Thor movies, “Thor: Love and Thunder,” Natalie Portman, is all set to mark her comeback. New photos from the set show both Thor and Jane on a romantic walk.

Though both Thor and Jane being in the same film do not really mean that their love story will continue, as in “Thor: Ragnarok” there was a brief mention of their break-up with very little information for the fans to speculate.

But the new set photos of “Thor: Love and Thunder” that surfaced online last week show Portman and Chris Hemsworth out on a date in what appears to be a flashback to 2013’s “Thor: The Dark World” as the two can be seen donning their Dark World-era looks.

More photos followed Monday that shows the two actors holding hands, rubbing shoulders, and enjoying hot dogs together.

Sadly, the plot details for "Thor: Love and Thunder" are still kept hidden which comes as no surprise as Marvel is known to be very secretive about their movies before release. But since "Love" is literally in the title, Thor’s love relationships are certainly going to play an important part in the plot of this upcoming superhero movie.

But at least Jane Foster’s comeback is confirmed, however this time she will not just play Thor’s love interest as she is all set to take on the role of Mighty Thor.

As per the comics, after Thor becomes unworthy, his hammer Mjolinir seeks Jane, who then adopts the identity of the Mighty Thor and also acquires Odinson’s armor, cape, hammer, helmet, and blond hair.

As for how exactly will this transformation pan out in Taika Waititi's film is currently unknown. Though Thor: Love and Thunder merchandise has confirmed that Jane Foster will wear a comic-accurate costume, complete with her own version of Thor's armor and helmet.

The filming for major parts of the movie wrapped up in Australia earlier in 2021, but pick-ups are currently taking place in the United States offering more insights as to what can be expected of this upcoming blockbuster.

Thor: Love and Thunder arrives on July 8, 2022.
