  • Tyjuan Lafitte, 17, Na'varaya Lane, 17, and Jeremiah Durham, 15, escaped the Ware Youth Center in Coushatta on Saturday
  • The convicted juveniles were taken into custody along with the security officer Victoria Tune on Sunday morning
  • All four suspects will be extradited to Lousiana and will face charges in connection with the prison escape

Three Lousiana inmates who escaped prison with the help of a female security guard were captured in Texas Sunday, officials said.

The incarcerated juveniles, identified as Tyjuan Lafitte, 17, Na'varaya Lane, 17, and Jeremiah Durham, 15, escaped the Ware Youth Center in Coushatta just before 3:00 a.m. Saturday. A video showed Victoria Tune, 21, a security officer at the prison driving them off in a white 2010 Pontiac G6, the Red River Parish Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.

The inmates who were all serving time for felonies were captured along with Tune from Houston early Sunday after investigators located the getaway car in a motel parking lot. All four suspects will be extradited to Lousiana where they will face charges in connection with escaping the prison.

"In a joint effort by the Red River Parish Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division, the LA State Police Troop G Investigations Unit, the Bossier Parish Sheriff’s Office, the LA Fusion Center, and the Houston Police Department‘s Crime Suppression Team, the unoccupied getaway car driven by Victoria Tune was located in the parking lot of a Houston motel where it was kept under surveillance by HPD for several hours," Red River Parish Sheriff’s Office said in the statement.

Lafitte served time for attempted first-degree murder while Lane was convicted for second-degree murder and Durham for armed robbery. However, it is unclear what Tune's relationship was with the three suspects.

The incident comes weeks after Vicky White, an Alabama corrections officer who fled with inmate Casey White on an 11-day run died of suicide while the inmate was recaptured.

Meanwhile, Tune's friends claimed that the incident was entirely out of character for her. "For people who are close to Tori, know that this is completely out of character for her. Instead of jumping to conclusions so quickly, give the authorities and the families who are involved enough time to gather all the facts. I grew up with her so I’m very confident when I say that this is very out of character for her," a woman identified as Amber Tilly wrote in response to the sheriff’s post, as reported by NY Post.
