Three People Stabbed In Philadelphia, Police Launch Investigation After Finding Adult, Minors Wounded
The Philadelphia Police Department have launched an investigation after three people were stabbed over the weekend.
The incident took place on Sunday around 2 p.m. in the Mayfair area, where officers discovered one adult and two minors with stab wounds.
A 37-year-old woman was stabbed multiple times. A 15-year-old boy suffered two stab wounds to the head, and the 10-year-old boy was stabbed once in the leg and once in the head.
The woman was transported to a local hospital, where she was placed in critical condition. Meanwhile, the two minors were admitted to the hospital in stable condition.
No arrests have been made in the stabbings and officials are unclear of the motivation behind the attacks. Police are asking anyone with information to contact investigators. The case remains ongoing.
The latest stabbing in Philidelphia comes more than a week after a woman was charged in the death of a 21-year-old at Lincoln University.
Nydira Smith, 39, was arrested and charged with fatally stabbing Jawine Evans last month. On Feb. 16, a fight reportedly occurred at the LLC south dormitory outside of campus.
Smith, who is the sister of a Lincoln University student involved in the fight, was seen on video stabbing Evans. He was later pronounced dead from a knife wound to the neck.
Smith faces charges of first-degree murder, aggravated assault, third-degree possession of an instrument of crime, and other criminal charges.
