Minnesota Timberwolves point guard Patrick Beverley drew the ire of the entire NBA when he called out Chris Paul, and a three-time NBA champion has joined other players that came to the defense of the Phoenix Suns point guard.

In a conversation with NBC Sports Philadelphia’s Harrison Sanford on “Inside the Green Room,” Danny Green had a ton of words for Beverley.

“People target you too, Pat Bev, you’re not playing any [expletive] defense out there. You ain’t stopping Luka [Doncic] and it’s time and time again I see Luka call your ass ‘little man, he’s too [expletive] small’ right at you every chance you got,” said Green.

“When you play Luka, you’re a cone too. How would you like that? Put that out there. I said it and I’ll say it twice. [expletive] out of here.”

NBA veteran Matt Barnes also took time out of his day on ESPN’s "NBA Today” to call out Beverley’s comments about Paul, mentioning that what the pesky defender said was “completely disrespectful and out of line.”

While it was somewhat expected for Beverley to call out Paul shortly after the Suns crashed and burned out of the playoffs at the hands of the Dallas Mavericks, the situation certainly is getting out of hand.

Beverley made an appearance on ESPN’S “Get Up” to go after Paul and take multiple shots at him.

“He (Paul) can’t guard. He really can’t guard. … Everybody knows that. What do we call him? Cone. You know when you do cone [drills] in the summertime, you make a move [and it stays still]. He’s a cone,” a fiery Beverley told the panel.

Paul and Beverley’s supposed rivalry came to a head last season when the Suns were able to close out the Clippers, with the latter guard being clearly frustrated with the situation and shoved Paul in the dying moments of Game 6.

Both men are known trash-talkers on the court and with the offseason looming over both players’ heads, it remains to be seen whether Paul will personally respond to Beverley’s comments.
