Thursday Fall TV Lineup: ‘Grey’s Anatomy,’ ‘The Good Place,’ ‘Murphy Brown’ Premiere
Thursday night television continues to be jam-packed with great programming. Whether you want to see sexy doctors or a literal escape from hell, there’s a season premiere for you to watch tonight.
“Grey’s Anatomy” Season 15 kicks off with a two-hour premiere. The season opener will show Jo (Camilla Luddington) having an epiphany on her honeymoon, Jackson (Jesse Williams) suddenly feeling a little spiritual and Teddy (Kim Raver) revealing her pregnancy to someone. Meredith (Ellen Pompeo), meanwhile, might start to realize that she wants some romance in her life. Could the new orthopedic surgeon (Chris Carmack) help?
“The Good Place” Season 3 will also get an extended premiere. The NBC comedy has put the quartet back on Earth. Michael (Ted Danson) helped them all dodged death, but can they actually become better people? And how does reversing their deaths change the world?
“Law & Order: Special Victims Unit” also scored a double-episode premiere for Season 20. The two-hour story introduces teenager Sam Conway (Bryce Romero), who refuses to name his attacker. The trial for his case will have a shocking conclusion. Meanwhile, Benson (Mariska Hargitay) and Rollins (Kelli Giddish) will “confess to some major life changes,” according to NBC.
With Thursday being such a competitive night for established TV shows, not too many new shows are debuting. However, CBS is launching the first season of a highly-anticipated revival: “Murphy Brown.” The journalist (Candice Bergen) is back after 20 years and ready to take on the world of politics with her new cable news morning show, but her son Avery (Jake McDorman) is working at a rival network. Joe Regalbuto, Faith Ford, Grant Shaud and Charles Kimbrough are reprising their roles as well.
