Tiffany Trump Fashion Week Snub? Fashion Editors At NYFW Seemed To Avoid Her, Moved Away Their Seats
Tiffany Trump, who was shunned by fashion editors during the Philipp Plein show at the New York Fashion Week (NYFW) Monday, was seen at the Dennis Basso show Tuesday sitting in the front row alongside her friend, designer Andrew Warren.
Unlike the night before, the seats next to her were filled during the show Tuesday. The younger daughter of President Donald Trump sat between Warren and a woman she was seen talking to during the show.
Tiffany was given the cold shoulder at NYFW, her first official appearance since her father took office. According to several attendees at the show Monday, Tiffany's presence was not entirely welcome. Some of those attending the Philipp Plein show took to Twitter and spoke about what the seating looked like.
Alyssa Vingan Klein, editor-in-chief of Fashionista.com, said: "Seating s---show at Philipp Plein because no editors want to sit near Tiffany Trump. SHOCKER."
Nikki Ogunnaike, a senior fashion editor at Elle, said something similar.
Wall Street Journal fashion columnist, Christina Binkley, tweeted a picture of the empty seats beside Tiffany.
While several attendees alleged fashion editors moved away because they didn't want to sit next to Tiffany, the fashion show was also apparently chaotic from the beginning. According to the Hollywood Reporter, hundreds of people gathered on the steps of the New York Public Library, where the show was held, while they waited to get inside one at a time through the revolving doors.
In addition to Tiffany and Madonna, the star-studded show was filled with A-list attendees, including, Paris and Nicky Hilton, Kylie Jenner, Tyga, Coco Rocha, Taylor Hill and others.
Earlier this month, Nordstrom had dropped clothing and accessories that carried the Ivanka Trump label, leading to the president criticizing the departmental store for its action on Twitter. However, Trump has not yet commented about the incident at the NYFW regarding his younger daughter.
