Tiger Woods vs. Phil Mickelson: Early Preview, PPV Details, Start Time For Golf Event
Two of the biggest names in professional golf will square off in a head-to-head matchup over Thanksgiving weekend. Simply dubbed “The Match,” the pay-per-view event will feature a clash between Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson.
Woods and Mickelson will face off at the Shadow Creek Golf Course in Las Vegas on Black Friday. Viewers who are still recovering from overeating on Thanksgiving can pay $20 to watch the two golf titans compete in an 18-hole challenge with a $9 million prize.
“The Match” can be seen at 3 p.m. EST on B/R Live, as well as cable and satellite providers like DirecTV, Comcast, and Cox, according to USA Today. Both Woods and Mickelson have agreed to donate some of the proceeds to charity ahead of the match.
Since this is more of an exhibition match than an actual tournament with career stakes on the line, there will be a bit more spectacle than usual. Both golfers will wear microphones throughout the match and can make side challenges to each other throughout the day, according to the event page.
The general public will also not be allowed at the event, meaning its organizers especially want fans to watch the broadcast. Woods is a -200 odds favorite over Mickelson to win the match, per OddsShark. Both golfers have seen recent success, with Woods winning the 2018 Tour Championship in September and Mickelson winning the WGC Mexico Championship in March.
